I am just posting this to let everyone know that the SAWT events are coming up fast and filling up at a pretty good rate.

For all the information you need as well as registration forms just head over to www.sawt.ca

I can also do my best to answer any questions on this thread or through a private message.

Good luck to everyone this year with their open water adventures.

Nate

I missed getting in to the Ridge but I'll be at the other 3 for sure. Like others have said, the SAWT is a great trail to fish because of how nice everybody seems to be, and I think the walleye from southern reservoirs are a challenging quarry. Good luck to everyone this year, I'm looking forward to getting back in the boat and hammering some big fish!

Cool. I am hoping to be able to put in some time as well. The lake has been dropping over the last 10-14 days! That might change things up a little if it continues to drop leading up to the tourney! I will likely see you down there!

Is this a for profit tournament or do proceeds/ prizes go to some kind of conservation group? Seems like a lot of pressure on public fisheries. I would think these sort of events would have been doomed along with the commercial fishing industry.

You usually need a sponsor "charity" for your event, with the sponsor receiving about 20-25% of the total with most or all of the remainder going for prize money.

For a lot of the charities which are usually local these events are their biggest fundraisers of the year, and depending on what lake they are at, many of the local businesses do very well to.

I cant find the livewell requirements anywhere. Would a 100 quart cooler with battery powered aerator qualify?

Great time in my first SAWT event. I've a lot to learn. Didn't come in last which is a bonus.
