I am interested to here what camper/hunters are using to heat their tents? I built a stove using 2/3's of a 45gal drum 10 years ago, it sits 20in off the ground and will burn about 8hrs on a fill. We have heated a 16x32 tent when it has been -10 and kept everyone comfortable. Using it in a 14x14 will heat you right out of it, the tent didn't get wet even when it snowed or rained. I have since bought a kwik kamp octagon inferno but have not had a chace to use it yet so I can't give an honest opinion of how it will perform.

fire reflects on the ash pan

This stove is designed to burn from the top down. slow and hot.
I like to burn as little wood as possible, I do not need the exercise. So I do not see any sense of a fire while I am in the sleeping bag.
It has an internal baffle to make the cooking surface hotter and stop sparks (no spark arrestor needed). Make one for your self, I have the patterns, you have the tin snips. Check out my album.

We use a cylinder stove like katts69, hot water reservour on the side, really works great. It is an investment but well worth it. Picked ours up in Montana.
