Tiger trout

Soon to be heading east to attempt to land a few "Tigers". I would greatly appreciate any ideas for successful trip. I use both flies and hardware- bait is not something i normally use....but I hope to get some tips. Thanks.

The best tip I can give is to smoke a cigar or you won't catch any fish! :acigar:

Saskatchewan is my tiger trout destination.....not our new Spring lake stockers-whenever they put them in....

The decision has not yet been made according to the rumor mill. There may not be tigers stocked in Spring lake. The talk was to stock them in a different pothole lake west of Edmonton with aerators, better access and limit restrictions.

This is all hypothetical at this point and we'll see what happens.

Do you use a fly rod

if you do put full sinking line on and put a muddler minnow/streamer/nymph:shark:

go too your backing most times

then troll about 25 to 40 on a mini kota:test:

add some s turns:sSig_cool2:

for spin cast I add a Williams Worbler as a flasher then the fly 16" to 4 ' behind

if you can use bait ..put a dew worm on a worm threader then thread too your hook instead of that fly

Tiger trout are a cross between a brown and a brookie. Both of those trout are easy to catch so a tiger trout must have a similar appetite.
