After getting skunked last weekend I was on a mission to make things right this weekend and boy oh boy did I ever!

Things started on Friday night with a visit to Wabamun Lake, I managed a few pike and a walleye but nothing photo worthy.

Then I headed off in search of trout but was side tracked by this cool frog...

Then I saw some loons that let me get nice and close for a picture.

Then I caught a few brookies including my new personal best 16.5 incher.

Then I headed into the frozen tundra in search of even more trout.

The deer let me get a couple good pictures.

Then it was time to catch a few rainbows.

Then I found this lake which still had some ice on it.

And in that lake I found a few cutties including my first fly fishing double header. Sure was tough netting them lol.

And then I wanted to go try a new lake which didn't disappoint as I caught my personal best rainbow(tied for length at 25 in but much fatter). I caught her on the fly rod and what a fight she gave me, before I even knew what was happening half my backing was gone and I was pedalling like mad man to make up ground. Eventually I corralled her got a couple pics and sent her back on her way.

Then I saw a family of teddy bears.

And then I got back into cell reception and found out I was being expected to bring fish home after having released all ~50 or so lol...

So I hit up the grocery store and found out they had a special on jumbo perch.

And also managed a new personal best white sucker.

Overall it was an amazing weekend that I won't soon forget. Great scenery and fish, all a guy could have asked for is plus temperature weather lol.

sounds like an incredible time, especially the double trout on the fly and the huge hog on the fly.

Even though the 15 in cutties were nothing special that double header was just plain awesome. First cast of the day just trolling along about 5 minutes in and boom double header. Ended up getting 19 cutties in around 4 hrs, Muskiki was fishing pretty easy. Still haven't seen a keeper size yet though(have to be 16 in). It can be a fun little lake if you don't mind the drive and small trout.

It was a sign of things to come as I got 19 in just 4 hrs or so. Nothing big though or any keeper sized but fun if you don't mind catching small trout.

I can't say enough about the hobie, especially trolling with the fly rod it doesn't compare to other kayaks because you just hold the rod and don't miss any hook sets unlike with my paddle kayak where I was stuck trying to paddle with one hand...

I wish the storage was laid out a little differently(I miss the larger inside storage of my OK Trident 13) but other then that no complaints. My legs are going to be like steel by the end of the summer, I probably put on 50 kms this weekend alone lol.
