How to keep trout fresh?

Heading out to walk the Crowsnest River this weekend. Any advice on what to use to keep the caught trout fresh all day? Thanks!

Bonk, Bleed and on ice right away.

If you are able and allowed to do so get the guts and gills out.

I am 100% convinced that how you treat your harvested fish in the first hours makes a HUGE impact on how it tastes at the table.

maybe also check the regs. 0 limit till June 15th.
