Classic Red River multi-specie fishing trip. :)

Isn't the river bank a garbage dump though? So unfortunate that ppl have to leave so much garbage while they indulge in such a fine form of outdoor recreation.

Left there in the late 70's and still remember that area. You never knew what fish would be coming up on your line.

Thanks for the pics. I haven't seen a sheephead in 50 years. Cool.:)

That's one of my favourite spots by Lockport. The best fishing is night fishing using big lighted slip bobbers and raw jumbo prawns 3 feet under the surface. Fish above the locks. There is a lighted park down there. The giant channel cats will keep your arms burning all night long.

nice pics. Its been quite awhile since I hauled in a nice big cat.
I always had great luck with beef liver. The blood trail would pull them in really fast. Plus its really cheap.... what can I say those were college days.

Awesome...thanks for the pics!! The Red is very much a catch and release fishery...or at least should be! Assiniboine is SLIGHTLY better, tho not much, in terms of cleanliness of the water. What you want is the Lake Winnipeg and the ultra-fast (sometimes) Winnipeg River, which is virtually pristine via the series of MB Hydro dams all the way through the Whiteshell Prov Park and into Lake Of The Woods by Kenora. Unreal fishing, and clean water.

Born and raised fishing that water...best times.
