Just came back from fishing the RDR. Seems like the water is running low this year. I wonder if it's the lack of rain or that they haven't opened the dams yet. Hopefully it rises soon, didn't get so much as a nibble.

Water in the lower RDR is the lowest I've seen it. Caught one fish a day

ya i agree i was there a few weeks ago and even though i caught alot of fish(goldeyes) it was so low people walked out in like shin deep water almost all the way across to find deeper water to fish. people were out with their kayaks and canoes and paddles upstream with very little effort. should have brought the tinny too

We haven't had much rain this spring. The mountain runoff doesn't start till June usually which will fill the dam reservoirs. Then the dams will let off more water.

They're keeping the reservoirs down until june 15 as part of flood mitigation. Calgary is paying Transalta for lost hydro revenue.

They are doing the same thing up north on the North Sask. Its too low to run a boat unless you have an armoured bottom.
