Went to Canoe Lake for 2 days....

The fish are there but we had to work for the walleyes. Caught them mostly on bottom bouncers with a leech or worm. Nice size, mostly 4-5 lbs.

Caught lots of pike in the 2-3 lb range and only a couple in the 5-6 lb range. And one decent one. Pic doesn't do it justice as he was a very thick fish.

Nice fish, buddy just got back from Waterhen, he said the pike fishing was pretty good, the walleye pretty slow.

Love that lake!!!fished it yrs ago with my folks..never seen such bronze colored walleyes in my life!!go to bait was beef heart that's all they sold at the store up there lol!

Things have either changed a lot in 5 yrs or you are an excellent fisherman. I fished there for over 20 years slowly watching that lake goto hell. The last time I was there I counted 19 nets on the water. Almost all of Cole bay entrance was covered and all by the old fire tower was the same I swore never again but maybe I will have to recant, congrats on a successful trip
