hey all i recently put a few holes in my summer waders from a tumble and i was looking for a patch type repair kit but kept finding the tube of gell repair for neoprene waders. since the summer waders are just a rubber type material theoretically could i use a patch kit from say a bicycle tire tube repair kit?they have the variety size patches and cement that i would think could do the job.

It depends on what type of rubber your waders are made of. I tried those bike tire repair kits and found they peeled off. I use Shoe Goo, cheap, easy to find and lasts forever. One one trip I used the repair kit from a thermorest and it held up alright.

All fly shops carry it ....I did a major repair with it ,a few years ago
And still good ..I'll find it in the morning and post the name .

If the holes are small, and not tears or rips, then use either Aquaseal or Marine Goop. Just squeeze a blob over the hole and let it dry overnight. Both work great.

cool thanks unfortunately both holes are tears but they are small enough where i might try that aqua seal cause i have that. i just thought a patch might be a better fix for a tear.

marine goop hmm never heard of that before but will go look for it and try it since the tube of aqua sea i found is hard as rock, and tried the bike tube repair kit and that also didn't work and would not stick.
you wear waders in the summer? sounds like a sweat fest!:snapoutofit:
