Hi all, heading down to Heyburn state park for a week long camping trip and want to get some fishing in, after all there is bass!

wondering if anyone has been down that way and how the fishing was.
I will be fishing the south end of lake coeur d'alene, Lake chatcolet.

the other thing im confused about is licensing. There is a Idaho licence, and a Tribal license. The state park is within tribal lands, but its a state park so im assuming i need the state license.

thanks!

Check the F&W but my guess is you will need a tribal license.

Most down that way are fishing kokanee

gave F&W a call and im told that the water is contested by the crown and the tribe. that sounds strange to me, but it is what im told.

Basically they are both fighting for rights to the fishing waters. and you may be ticketed by the tribe, or the state for not having the appropriate license on any given day. The state says you need one, the tribe says you need one, but technically neither of them can enforce it at the moment.
Seems fishy to me!

Ill buy both to be safe!

As for the kokanne, im not interested in them as much as bass and pike.
they do have bass turny's there every year, and it is rated #4 on bassmasters top 100 lakes.
