I caught a small about 1 lb pike (14") at Wab the other day. When I was reeling it in, I felt a real heavy tug on the line. When I pulled the little bugger in, it had a fresh chunk taken out in it's side near the tail. It was about 1" X 2" and about 1/2" deep. It was bleeding like it had just been done. Must have been a very large pike that attacked it as I was bringging it in, it was that fresh. I sure wish I could have seen the one that hit it as there were marks on the other side of it too. It swam away after releasing but i'm sure it would have died in less than 1 hr. Wish I could have taken a picture.
Caught lots of 12" or so walleye, nice to see them there in abundance. Gonna be a great fishery in a few years when the eyes get bigger.
