Does anyone have any suggestions on where to buy comercial stackable prawn traps. It would be nice to get them locally around edmonton before I head to the coast but not likely.... Anywhere between Edmonton and Kitimat would be ideal, thanks.
Call oscars in Smithers. I know they have crab traps, not sure about prawn traps

Stop in Terrace at Misty River tackle we stop there just about every trip to Prince Rupert. They have a good selection of prawn and crab traps. Fishhawk

We made our own . Easy to make. !/2 by 1 inch welded wire mesh hog rings and pliers.
If you make the ends to hook at the top of the trap, they can be unhooked and laid flat.
Wire and hog rings are available at UFA or farm supply places. Peavey Mart.

Check out the Army Navy Store:

You have a couple of them in Edmonton. If they don't have them in stock you can order from their website and have them delivered.

I have a couple you can have for $10 each. Used one trip and been sitting ever since.
You will need at least 300 ' of line, and a float. My traps have a bunch of tire weights on to keep them in place.
I did not get much satisfaction out of the process, as the area I fish is pounded by the Commies in June leaving very few bugs for us to get.
