Hey guys,

Sorry for being so late into the year for the first report but it has been busy busy, this is definitely our most booked season ever with only two dates left in August that we are offering at a discounted rate!

Salmon fishing has been very good this year, limits come pretty easy and in fairly calm waters to boot, plus some real nice sized Coho have been around early in the year so that's a bonus. Chinook have been slightly below average size for this time of the year so far but from most of the reports I'm hearing that seems to be fairly consistent around the coast. I personally believe that the fish are behind schedule (those August dates should be amazing then!!! :sHa_shakeshout:) due to the warmer water temperatures and lack of rain on the coast.

Halibut as always has been deadly. Fish in the 30-70lb range are taken every single day and we are finding a lot of 17-20lbers for the under 90cm fish as well. We have already caught and released 16 halibut over 100lbs which is a great fight and nice picture but then also awesome to let them go and breed and continue to make millions of halibut for the future! The fish under 90lbs or so are the best for eating anyway.

Bottomfishing has been the best I think we have ever seen it, lingcod in the 30-50lb range have been fairly common which is pretty amazing! One day I guided guests to 15 lingcod and 7 of those were over 30lbs. Now that's amazing lingcod fishing!

The seas have been very calm minus one week all season as well so that is nice, today was almost like a lake and limits of halibut to 71lbs were taken as well as lingcod to 41lbs and tons of Yelloweye to 17lbs.

Here are some pictures, hope you guys enjoy and don't hesitate to PM me with any questions you may have!

Tight lines,
David Jr

Sweet mother of mercy you even caught a mermaid, lying on the dock with the other ocean dwellers, even had a smile on her face:)

How the heck does someone who lives in a different province get all that meat home ???

With difficulty, but it can be done.

LOL! Yeah....as easy as getting it air or ground shipped and the fish packaging places can arrange everything....
Wow, that was soooooooooooooo hard.

Or, drive it home yourself....mind blowing!!!

Sorry guys but it is dead easy to bring it back. I'm not sure what difficulty you are having.

That is some nice fish guys. Fishing obviously has been amazing.

The fish processors will fillet and vacu-pack your fish. They can send it or you can bring it home. That is a ton of meat. But worth every penny. Those guys will have freezers full for the rest of the year.

My wife and I were out with another guide outfit earlier this spring and caught only 4 springs and my freezer has a ton of fish in it. I can only imagine the pile each of them will have.

You guys sure do have the most awesome catch pictures that I have seen of anybody on the island.

Getting fish home, I guess you would use a bunch of big coolers and pack them full of flash frozen fish with a little ice on top and drive away. Probably you could drive them to Florida without a problem. The key would be to use the fish processors so your fish are all frozen rock hard.

How the heck does someone who lives in a different province get all that meat home ???

Easily, if you are driving bring a small freezer and generator, or stop half way and ask a hotel to put it in the freezer while you sleep. If flying pay the extra cost and put it on the plane with you. I've done it for 10 years and never lost a single fillet.

Fishing for us has been great Marty...12 Chinook and 3 Coho in the boat in only a couple hours yesterday plus 18 lingcod. Day before halibut all between 35-72lbs and couple over 100lbs released and limits of Chinook to 26lbs. Hoping it continues as of the 10th, couple of scheduled days off to sleep for weekend...which I love, but can't wait to get back onto the water! Pictures will be posted on these few days off :)
