I'm coming up to Edmonton one night this week to spend an evening with my daughter. She has never caught a goldeye before,so we plan to try the river. Can anyone tell me one of the better places to try and catch a couple of thos silver rascals? Thanks very much for your help. Much appreciated.

Below the Anthony Henday bridge on the west end is a good place for goldeye and mooneye

I've caught a few on the east side of the river down by the old Stratcona Science Park off 17th street. Definitely hit and miss there though.

any creek mouth, I'd try the west end (Blackmud, etc)....the boulder piles/bank by the low level bridge...really any deep pool you can cast to. Search NSR on here, any of the spots mentioned will hold goldeye. Good luck!

Edit: bobber, splitshot, small hook/piece of worm. About 12-16 inches between hook and worm. The bobbers you can partially fill with water allow you to cast much further. Worth the stop at a fishing store.
