Was thinking of heading out to Pigeon and was wondering how the water was? I looked online and they don't have an advisory posted for that lake, but I seem to remember seeing a post about blue green algae on here a couple weeks ago?

My neighbor across from me took some kids out a few days ago and some of them have a rash ........ they were near Mulhurst tubing around the lake in that area.

I won't be swimming, I'll be fishing. I have one tag left to fill but if there's a bloom right now I think I'll hold off.

There is a blue-green algae bloom right now. This link lists all of the lake in Alberta with blooms. I'm not sure how extensive it is. Others who have been there recently could let you know.

Was out there on Sunday, lots of action we boated at least 100 and most were in the 50+ size....
We tagged 2 over 54 and had a chat with the warden, he mentioned that they have been told algae doesn't affect fillets, cheeks. But not advised to eat the organs of the fish.
Which is what I have heard the last 6 years and the 2 are consumed and no ill effects with the 4 people...
So with that in mind, other then swimming, drinking, or using the water there is no problem with the fish.
Have fun, its a great lake if you love catching......
