Hey guys, I'm hoping to take my kiddos fishing on Sunday and I'm hoping to find a place that just has some little fish for them to keep there attention. Obviously not looking for any secret fishing holes. Just something for the kids.
Around Calgary preferred, but willing to drive about an hour.

Not sure how these spots are doing at this time..but just my suggestion
Cross field ponds...Dewitt's .....maybe middle lake at carburn park(riverbend calgary) for perch....I thought there was a kids catch pond in airidre??? There is a pond just south of olds on a gravel road with a campground...sorry can't remember the name....

How old are your kids? Pine Coulee Reservoir is a great spot to fish from shore, but Walleye fishing may be a little too intense if they're under 5 or 6.

There's a pond at the fish hatchery in Inglewood if you have little ones it's a great place to keep them busy

Kids are 3 & 5 perch would be great for them.
We've done the Dewitt's pond thing and just pull in weeds and grass

Mine are 5, 3, and 2. Brought them all to Pine Coulee Reservoir and they had a great time. Fished under the bridge with minnows on pickerel rigs. They lasted about 45 before it was time to go but we landed 6 or 7 in that time. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/07/25/3d93a1715f34650315ff60e6b7e1c903.jpg

X2 Great place for small kids to learn to fish as well as learn something about the fish.

The pond is in the park by the fish hatchery? I haven't been much of a fisherman, but I'm trying to introduce things to my kids to all things outdoors. Far to many distractions with tv's and video games.

So I ended up heading down to Pine coulee. But just fished by the bridge. We pulled in a walleye within 5min of casting our first line. Nothing happened after that but the kids loved it. Thanks for the ideas guys. I'm going to try the hatchery next. Hopefully next week
