Hey guys,

Got myself an inflatable pontoon and just curious if there's any safety equipment required to be with you at all times?(besides PFD of course).

I'll be at Wab testing it out this sat so if you see an orange pontoon come by and say hi.....just come by slowly LOL

You need all of the safety gear for a small pleasure craft: throwing rope, paddle, flashlight, and whistle. You don't need the bailing bucket for a multi hull.

If you purchase that plastic orange colored container in the boating section at Canadian Tire, it has the majority of the safety gear you need. I think it costs around $15.00. Have fun and be safe.

Walmart is selling them for $10.00

Just got a Stealth Pro, didn't think I needed the safety gear.

If you are putting your own kit together the throwing rope has to be a 50 ft. floating rope. And the whistle can't have a pea in it. And a waterproof flashlight is a good idea.

need the boat op licence for an electric kicker? Thought it was for 9.9hp+, or around that rating.

I thought the same, but its any kind of motor on any kind of boat. I thought it was kind of overboard myself.
