I just finished painting my canoe camo yesterday with spray paint and it worked out really well. :sHa_shakeshout:

What about a roll-on rock guard paint like they use on vehicles?

Krylon Fusion for Plastic. Canadian tire stocks it. Your post reminds me I should post a thread on a canoe I refinished this spring.

I just painted my fibreglass "Taber Yak". It was looking all scratched up and faded. Got some liquid plastic paint at the Restore for 11.00 a gal, but they sell it at home depot for around 40.00. Took a long time to dry but turned out ok. All I did to prep is wash it good.

not bad. id imagine it adds considerable weight though. are you talking about plasti dip? what was the brand of the stuff you used

This happened to be Rona brand Plastic Enamel. Tremclad and Behr make similar paints. Bassically it's just a good enamel paint, and is applied by brush or roller like normal paint.
As for weight, hard to figure. A gallon weighs about 4 lbs, and I used about 1/2 a gallon for entire boat, so maybe 2 lbs?
