Nice one is that a slip bobber on a fly rod used for indication or a spinning rod and casting it.

Yes its a indication that some times slips.. lol ..here is the set up for 3fow I am about 18 inches too 2 ft to fly..
on your other question on spin cast yes you could use a spin cast the same way
if its not windy then you strip it in as normal fly fishing
also I have normal fly fished them with no indicator and had good success
if you have wind then you can very slowly strip it in
as you can see in the picture if they are there and surface feeding then strip your fly through the school and one will rise up and take your fly
as you can see in the one picture my indicator is on the right but you can see the Lake Whitefish in the water .. its just like sight fishing Bone Fish or others you sight fish
you don't have to see them just see the rising or know where they feed
you can do this on any Alberta Lake Whitefish lake
Food for Thought

It's a little different that slip bobbers as there isn't a bobber stop. Rather you make a loop and lock it and when you get a hit it should pop. They are invaluable when fishing leaders longer than your rod so you can get the fish in close enough to net
