Whats going on !

My Dad just got a notice in the mail that his guns were regiestered 5 years ago and has to do it again for $50.00 each as they have expiered. I thought it was for life ,a one time deal. What is going on ?

That's my understanding also--there's no expiry date on the certificates. I just looked at the Firearms Centre site and there's no mention of renewing registrations. Are you sure it's not a renewal for your dad's licence (POL or PAL)? They do have to be renewed every five years, but the price is $60 ($80 for restricted licence).

the renewal is $50, not each gun.
