Hello, anyone know where and when the tiger trout were planted into the nearby Edmonton lakes? I hear they're very aggressive and just wanted to try my luck with them. If you don't want to share your spot publicly, just PM me :D

Seriously? Close to 200 people looked and not a single person wants to share?
I heard it was being re-evaluated due to the legal concerns around aerated ponds.

They are sterile fish. They have another 1 - 2000 to stock, after that there is no plans to stock more. Please do not keep them.

Sure looks like a cross with a pike. The coloring that is.
Stocking trout again and not perch???? I would sooner eat perch than a trout any day of the week.

Stocked trout is horrible unless smoked lol. Perch on the other hand is delicious!

I wonder if they are going to try splake anytime soon since tigers **** down.
And on the the topic tasting fish, I'd say Crappie tastes better than perch!

I am disappointed that the meat fishermen are already hawking as many out of the newly stocked lakes as they can. These fish photos are from Manitoba where C+R regulations allow them to get big so more anglers can enjoy the experience of catching these special fish. Really- fishing is so screwed up in this province of ours.....

Such a pitty that ours will struggle to get to that size. They get so much more colourful when they mature.

agree. I wished they stocked crappie or tried them in lakes like battle lake. I think they would do ok.
