Im on South Buck right now, north bay. I'm only out about 50 meters. Ice is 4" and about 5 fow. Too dangerous to go any further. I'll sit here for a few hours. See if anything wants to bug me in shallow water.

Thanks for the update. You never know what will bite in the shallows.

I didn't see a thing in 3 hours. I packed up and went to Star lake on the way home.

2-3" of ice with about 3-4" inches of slush and floodwaters on top. Decided to call it a day and try again tomorrow.

I'm actually very disappointed with how the ice is shaping up so far. We have had some really cold nights, but that snow is insulating the ice really well from forming.

I'm still wondering if I should even bother trying to go out tomorrow. If I go anywhere I'm going to try Carson, and maybe Lac La Nonne on my way back. But I have the sinking feeling I'm going to find the same kind of thin, slushy ice no matter where I go.

Sadness :(:(:(:(:(:(
