Is it safe?

The ice was very convincing last week and I had very good time on my first trip of ice fishing. But the weather so warm recently, will it pose any danger for these stocked ponds? Any precaution?

I think the smaller ponds may turn to crap quicker than the bigger lakes and reservoirs. Depending on how warm and the amount of wind some could show signs of rotten ice similar to spring. Could be 7" thick but soft and barely support a person if they get real bad. I'm hoping the ice stays fairly solid and then the only issue will be the edges because they will melt first. At the end of the day size, location, elevation, depth, and wind will all play roles in how bad or good it may be...be very cautious!
