Thanks for the update, I should of went to gull.
Although if those trucks were on the ice parked that close, you wouldn't see me there :)
I heard from a friend the clarity is poor all over the lake.

Now now, Its not the size the counts....what a tick...it is the size that counts :)

That is a lot of people Zip. Same on the water clarity where I was. I'm not so sure it will clear up. Maybe. Last year it was pretty much the same all year...at least where I was fishing it was.

There was only one quad and a couple guys on sleds they all went to that big bay to the right or south east of the lake access road. This guy decided to come out in the afternoon and saved 75 paces and drove on then walked out to his spot. I imagine the ice where he was parked was in the order of 8", due to the snow cover ... watched him drive off just before 4:00 pm.

Wow what a brave but silly fella. I was thinking by now most guys with sleds and quads would be using them to the fullest now. Ice is almost prime for them now. But for the most part walking on isn't that bad as to most spots aren't across the lake from where you can park. Wish some people were less lucky with testing the ice so early with a truck but at same time don't want the lake to be harmed or the driver really but just a good scare like getting stuck out on 8" of ice in flood water lol

I would say it tough going at best. Lots of flood water around the edges and the further out you get the less ice. I'm not comfortable skidooing with gear in tow over 5 inches of ice. Probably be fine but too risky for just a fish for me. Now we need some good cold weather to make more ice. Forecast looks favorable...not perfect but better than the last week. Perfect right now would be -25 every night.
