anyone fishing mexico this winter?

the misses and I are considering a 10 day trip to mexico this winter, just wondered if any of you folks ever fished there before and have any tips?

Which side are you heading? Atlantic or Pacific? Do you want to fly fish or spin cast? Do you want to fish shallow or off shore?

It all makes a huge difference.

The wife and I are heading in between Akumal and Tulum the beginning of January and I will be trying shore fishing based on the thread I linked. Might rent a charter out of the Akumal dive shop, $180 US for three hours doesn't sound too bad. Good luck!
