Pike would lose to these bad boys

Payara, Venezuela,get up to 30lbs or so. Pricey trip.

There was a good Real Fishing episode where bob catches a whole bunch of em. Its pretty cool, their teeth extend through their nostril pores when their jaws are closed! Mean lookin fish

Which reminds me....when I lived on QCI I caught a Ling (salt water) and lipped it, then whacked it on the head to kill it. The jaws slammed shut ! Teeth went on each side of my thumb !
Didn't do that again ! :lol:

That would be pretty cool , I think Payara's are close to the Barracuda , beautiful fish , some really nice markings , Ive never been , have no desire to fish for them little toothy critters , If I'm catchin fish with big ole chompers like that , Ill be going to Australia , or New Zealand to go after Great whites . At least If I lose a finger , hand or arm I can say I caught the big one . Looks like fun though .
