First ice outing this past weekend and tested out the new auger. Just walked out and spent the day in front of the tower. Ice is a solid 12" (measured), although there was a size-able area that looked like it had broken up and re-froze. Water is quite clear. Landed a nice 57 cm eye and a handful of large (10-14 lb) pike (I assume females), all fish looked healthy. Only one other walleye, which probably would have been a keeper had I not lost it at the ice. Not fast and furious but it was a good start to my season.
