IF the Conservative party forces an election and IF the Liberal party get's kicked out because of the advertising scandal.... How likely is it that a victorious conservative party will repeal the gun registration law?

Anybody have any quotable quotes from Stephen Harper regarding the gun registry?

I really don't put much faith into election promises, but maybe those that follow politics closer have a stronger sense of what's believable and what isn't?

With the conservatives polling to see how good their chances are at winning an election, this might be a good time to mobilize those that strongly oppose the gun registry so people think beyond "just" the misuse of the ad fund during the polling.

Hey Ringman,

This is part of a story in today's National Post where Harper said they would scrap the registry:

Apart from repairing federalism in Quebec, he said a Conservative government would give more power to internal government auditors, including Auditor-General Sheila Fraser. It would also reduce hospital wait times, cut taxes, boost military funding and scrap the $1-billion gun registry. Many of the party's policies will be those laid out at last month's policy convention in Montreal and they are currently being refined in anticipation of an election.
