Calgary boat show, any body going. with these tougher times does any body plan on buying a new boat, just wondering.

I plan on heading over for an hour to two on Saturday if I can sneak out of the house undetected. :lol:

I'm going, and I have lots of questions since my inherited boat is a peice of crap. But we'll see, if I can get it tuned and fixed up I don't need one. But...you never know, might buy a new one too if there is a steal.

Danni and I just got back from the show... It's the same as usual. A ton of wakeboard boats, and boating gear. All of the outdoors stuff is at the East end, nothing to exciting. The fishing hole has a big setup, and the new Hummingbird fish finders are pretty cool. Learned a little more about making sausage from the halford hides booth, and watched a fishing demo from Brad Fenson. We met TJ (sheephunter) and thanked him for all of the advice he has given us, and talked about hunting for a bit. Bring money though $12.00 for parking and $12.00 a person to get in. $36.00 plus a drink and chocolate bar just to wander around.

A bounus though.... If you need a boaters licence they have booths everywhere, free to take the exam if you pass then you pay the fee $60 i think. Worth it if you don't have the licence yet. Mandetory for next year.

That looks like a FRIGGIN' good time ! Never caught a Salmon or Hali in my life ! Looks like a West Coast vacation might be in order :)

Usually have a booth set up in Calgary, but too much happening right now so had to pass this year.

While I respect the fact that some of the writers/slash tv show guys make their living in part doing these shows, and they are interesting and have some good information and stories , the organizers really need to bring in some differant guest speakers for their seminars. Guys like Fred Noddin and other writers from this magazine would be great , as well as others around.
Topics for current seminars are also almost always the same and they need some new subject material..Just my 2 cents..
