I've sledded with a few guys that have them (muffpot). Work great. Just don't forget a pizza pop in there over the summer.

A friend has used the hot dogger style for years, worked real nice. 20 yrs ago I made my own u shaped bracket to hold a ring of sausage double wrapped in foil for my old yammy 340 muffler. Ride till you smell the sausage or hear it sizzle :). The friend who used the actual sandwich holder had many a yummy hot meal to eat while out on the trails. I would buy one for my next sled.

We have one on each of our machines. Work great. Enough food for may family of 4. Our fave is perogies in one and sauages in the other (i get the sauages cuz i ride too hard and burn the perogies!?)
The problem with a quad mount would be getting the mud and crap off before opening it (if you can even find it!). I also dont think the quad muffler would get hot enough to cook, maybe warm stuff but thats it. Once you get into a puddle it would cool off right away.
Besides, who wants to eat a hot meal on a hot day?

Does the food need to be wrapped in tinfoil?

My ex used one on every trip. Everything from garlic shrimp, to chicken wings, Italian meatballs, and sausage and perogies.

Don't get an aluminum one , make sure its stainless.
Oven bags work the best .Don't recommend tinfoil.Parchment paper was ok for certain stuff.

I used to run one all the time when I had my sled, you have to be selective on what kinds of food you put in them because you can have a real beat up mess in your cooker at lunch if you ride aggressive, and like othe's said earlier, line with tin foil for easy clean up. All in all I would get another one once I get another sled had some real good creations for lunch on the hillside.

I wrap leftover smoked pulled pork, babyback ribs, stirfrys, chinese food, spaghetti and meat balls etc in foil. Throw it in my backpack till around 11am. Throw it in the muffpot, rip around for an hour or so, stop and have a hot lunch while my buddies eat there half froze subway sandwich that looks like it went threw a blender after getting thrown around in their cooler or pack. they are awesome and you will have guys begging for a taste of your hot lunch. In these tough times, I may just ride around in the mountains and sell them... LOL
get one, you will not regret it.

Parchment paper works great, I dont like the oven bags as it gets too hot if you're not careful! Cooks food from frozen if needed. Deer meatballs are my specialty. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/16/02/16/99588aaae63144dc05d1e4ea30d39b80.jpg wings are good too
