Best lake to camp at in bc?

We really prefer a campsite with a lot of privacy and trees.It would probably be a week or more trip so power would be the min.

Want to narrow that down a bit? Northern BC? Southern Interior? Okanagan? The Island? Thompson Nicola? Shuswap? East Kootney? Fraser Valley? Central Coast? Cariboo? Peace River? Northern Rockies?
Literally thousands of good camping lakes.

How about something within 5 hours of Calgary, and has good fishing? Would like somewhere to pop up a tent with the family for a week and spend some time in my inflatable pontoon and have easy access to the water.

Premier Lake is a beauty place... No power. Whiteswan is amazing as well. Don't think there is any power up there either though. Both have great fishing!

Harold Provincial park on the Shuswap is great, just west of salmon arm, if yo can get a site on the lake that is a bonus. very private sites.

The other trick is when. July /Aug aren't the "prime" fishing months except maybe for bass & Perch in eastern BC, which is where your 5 hrs somewhat limits you to, basically to the east Columbia valley for the most part. 6-7 will get you to the west Columbia valley and Kamloops/Okanagan/Thompson area.
Power and a "private" campground are not really synonymous in July/Aug, if you can get a spot at some of those places. If you have a gen set, it opens up a whole bunch of possibilities. The best fishing places in June are pretty busy, and with the US dollar so good, may be busier this year than they have been for the last few.
You can spend a week on the Westside road from Parsons to Invermere on the west side of the Columbia and fish two different lakes a day. But there will be no power, probably lots of bugs, no fancy campgrounds with a lot of people , either. Other wise pick a spot around Cranbrook/ Jaffery/Fort Steel area, do day trips to lakes around there, lots to choose from within a few minutes drive, to 1 hr drive. Some really good fishing holes are not the kinds of places to take a 32ft'r into.

Yes there is. Very nice spot with decent fishing. Lots of trails around as well.

You're sitting in front of a computer, with a search engine that will reach around the globe within milli-seconds at your fingertips and find you printed matter, photos and contact info for every conceivable destination. You've gained enough knowledge to learn how to turn it on, and log into a forum. And yet we still see posts/threads like "where do I go?" "what's it like" "when is it open".
Then when suggestions are given, we still get follow up questions and/or snarky remarks!
Geeze. Use google. Use provincial park info sites. You know what appeals to you. There's photos, maps, dates, descriptions of activities...Most of the time, if you type into Google the same question you ask in a forum you'll get a lot more info. In fact you don't even have to type. Highlight text, right click, "search Google for...". Voila. If you were willing to travel a bit more, maybe 8 hours, you could find what you need on the Bonaparte Plateau north and west of Kamloops. Everything from primitive forest recreation sites to resorts with full hook up pull through sites for big rigs. Many lakes are very good fishing and lots have motor size and type restrictions that keep the bigger boats on other lakes. Lots of country to explore.

That's my Favorite road in the world! Growing up in Invermere, I literally learned how to pull a trailer on that road!

I went to this really nice campground for 10 days last September in BC.
It was bar none the best camping experience I ever had.
It was so good, I bought the owner a bottle of Crown Royal as a thank you
That was how awesome it was.

Look forward to another great trip this year.
