My Breeder Vom Slaney Vale sent me this picture of their recent litter, born a few days ago . There are six males, and four females, and all are spoken for, including my male.

They look great and so does Mom. I'll see him soon. Does he have a name? Pedigree?

No name yet, I was just sent a few pictures with more paperwork and pictures to come. I will have a name figured out by March when I pick him up.

I always loved Drahthaars. I looked into all the Canadian breeders and a few in the states but didn't end up pulling the trigger, glad I didn't just because of timing but I'll end up getting one some day.
Congrats, I'm sure he'll be all you hoped for.

Nice whelping box, must be a good breeder to take such care of her dogs.
Congrats, hope you share nothing but great hunts and memories.
I'm jealous...

Nice female and pups. Good thing you posted a picture of the sire. Thought for a minute she was bred to a Holstein bull.

I have had four GWPs in the past and my father and brother each have (DD/GWP), overall I think you'll be happy with the breed. I have liked the males better than females with this breed.

take my advice on this. When it's your turn to pick your pup take the male with the shortest coat.

What I'd give for my son not to be asthmatic and allergic. That is my idea of handsome.

The six week old pups have now been assigned to each owner, and my pup is below. His eyes are changing color, and he is growing the Drahthaar facial hair. I leave for Manitoba on the 7th to pick him up. The next pictures will be of the pup in his new home.

I have a GWP (rescue dog, so don't know background). My wife has fallen for these dogs hard. Me too. Love their coat. So much nicer around the house than my old Labs was.

The colour change is amazing, the puppies looked like Dalmatians at first! Very nice looking pup.

After 2700km of driving which included driving through two blizzards, both the pup and I are home. We both need to relax a bit after the trip.

Congrats, I must say I'm more than a little jealous! Did you have him kennelled for the drive home? I'm curious how you handle such a long trip with a pup. Lots of pee breaks I assume!

I installed a partition in his crate to make it smaller, and I pulled over about every 90 minutes to let him do as he needed. The first day was tougher, the second day was very smooth. I started each morning by taking him for a run and making sure that he was tired and empty.

At 15 weeks he is 35lbs, and his appearance has changed . In a couple of weeks we will be attending a NAVHDA field training session, to start developing him as a hunter.
