I use the Phillips system one, with automatic therapy.

I am having a hard time finding a good mask that works, I have to use a full face mask, so I have tried the amara, and the arama view - which I did not mind, but I have some leaks so I am back on the amara but going to get a new mask today the resmed air fit 10...

I get a few solid hours on it a night, it is really amazing how well these things work. When I don't wear it for a night I just wake up bagged.

Still getting used to everything that is for sure

I use the mirage quattro Full faced model.

Havent used the machine for about 6 months. My gf is freaking out cause i snore like *ell. Bit from november 15th to april 15th i work 25 to 30 some hous a week and i sleep from 7pm to 12am. I needed a cuahion for the face mask and i find that 100.00! Just for that is a ripoff. Now i just need to find a place to get em cheaper.

My cpap is absolutely the best thing that ever happened to my sleep patterns.

My apnea was driving me insane, waking me up 20-30 times per night and my snoring resulted in my wife not being able to sleep in the same room as me.

At first, being deeply claustrophobic, wearing the mask was horrible for me, akin to being water boarded. But I stayed with it, fought my phobia and it has transformed my life to the point I can't imagine sleeping without the machine.
No gasping, no jerking awake and best of all, no snoring....

I have periodic bouts of rhinitis, due to my nasal cavity drying out but it's all very well worth it.

Results may vary per individual but this technology changed my life....

I've been using one for 5 years, every single night. I use the nasal pillow type "mask". It's the least obtrusive and can comfortably lay on my side.
"Resmed Airsense 10 Climate Control".
Paid $900 for it.

I wear the dang thing too. It works, but I hate it. Some nights when I put it on, I just feel locked in, and anxious, so I can't use it. Happens about once a month.

I have had mine for 4 or 5 years now and have the nasal pillow style and I think that everybody should have one the only thing I don't like is I can't take it to camp because no way to get power to it, it's nice waking up rested and energized in the morning when I use it which is most every night

Me too. Can't function without it.

I have had it so long that I now have three machines...get a new one every three years. I have taken my old one and once I found out it actually runs on 12v DC, I cut off all the extra junk that converts it to 120v AC and now direct wire to a battery when camping.

Yes, it takes some getting used to, but it is well worth it.
I was stopping breathing 40 times a night and waking up in a sweat. the sleep doc said that was due to the jolt of adrenalin your brain would send to get you breathing again...hence the gasping. But the prob with that was that the adrenalin kicks the snot outta your heart. He said it was like running a marathon every night and it takes 8-10 years off your life span.

So get the CPAP...it will change your life for the better...in many ways.

What's the draw of your cpap? I don't think I have ever drained my deep cycle battery right down...

I don't know the exact numbers but the battery is hardly down the next morning. I top up the betteries with a generator each day, so I don't exactly know how long they would last.

Count me in. I use a Res Med S9. Cant seem to find a mask that work great for me. I have nasal pillows, full face and one that covers the nose. I like the pillows the best but I get a lot of air leaks and end up only getting a couple hours of sleep at a time. I sleep on my side but I guess I move a lot. Plus the noise from the air exhaust from the mask wakes me as well cause if it blows on the pillow or sheets it wakes me up. I have had mine for about three years and still can't get used to it. I got my machine and all supplies from FPM solutions out of Ontario. Great service and fast shipping. And the prices were great.

I use one all the time. It made a huge difference, I use mine if I have a nap.

I think the units and accessories are way overpriced and the "Specialists" I've dealt with knew about selling the units and very little about sleep apnea machine setup, etc.

Question to those who buy them online. Do you need to produce a prescription like you do buying them from said "specialists" in Alberta? Also, do instructions come with them to set pressures and what not? You know the settings I am talking about, the ones don't see in the main menus. Do you guys buy online through insurance?

Yes you need the prescription. They will ask you for it. Some will set up the machine before they send it to you according to the numbers on your Rx. The first one I bought was from the US and they just sent me the unit. I had to take it into my sleep doctor and pay her to set it up according to my Rx needs.

Did you buy it through medical insurance?...just curious, because mine crapped out the other day and I have go through the RX process. I haven't seen my sleep Dr for a lot of years, and I was using the same RX. Now I have to do anther sleep study. I friken hated it.

Thanks for the info

I had my regular doctor make a prescription for me I gave him the numbers and he wrote them down.

I have a DeVilbiss IntelliPAP (PN: DV51D) Standard Machine I use for traveling and camping you can buy a DC power cord no invertor required, a group 27 battery will last for at least 3 days
Cost about $400 a couple years ago

Respironics System one with attached humidifier , like heaven
Compared to the S6 I had for 20 years . Nasal pillows in a Whisper
Mask. I had given up on the old full face mask. This is not a good idea .
The difference between not using it and using it cannot be described .
Last year had a lot of trouble breathing ,finally I had it looked at.
I had what turned out to be fairly serious surgery on my sinuses during which
The specialist gave me a prescription for a new machine etc. Went to the
Foothills Hospital sleep clinic ,they referred me to a place in Okotoks .
Didn't like her . Foothills a patient lot , sent me to Dream Sleep Respiratory
On 130 th SE . Great people . I love this machine , mask , the follow up .
My wife says I'm still grumpy but my eyes are open.
Does Everybody use those wet naps you buy for Cpap cleaning ?
If you need one of these ,do not ignore it , just shop till you find
The people you like . Apparently that stopping breathing is bad for you .

Respironics system one for me. When i first got it 2 years ago and after using it the first week life was great. I was saying what was this sleeping 2-3 hour afternoon nap`s. after my first month of use i started gettinf tired some afternoon`s. the days i didin`t work i had to nap. Was using the machine for 6 to 9 hours each night. The past six months i havent used it at all, since november 15th i have been working 25h-30h/week. Sleep 4-5 hours at night and 2-3 hours when i got home in morning. I found that just my 2-3 hour sleep in mornig to be great and didin`t have to nap in afternoon. This past friday i fanaly kicked my but and payed the 100.00$ for the cushion on my face mask. I asked the guy why a 100.00$ for for something that cost`s maybe .25cents to produce in china. His answer was it was medical grade silicone.

Been 4 days with the new mask - res med airfit 10 full face mask.

Man I wish I could avoid the full facemask but wow so far this new mask is awesome:sHa_shakeshout:

According to my dream mapper, 7-8 hours per night usage and a 99% fit and AHI is 1.5 at the highest.

Amazing, and all this with a new born in the house...lol wife is loving that:scared0018:

Over $300 for the mask - thank goodness for insurance coverage - I seen on these internet suppliers they run around the $150 mark...

What a difference these things make, it is amazing and a life saver in my case.
