Alright here's the question

What is your favourite southern Alberta lake to fish whitefish and why (I.e., size, numbers, accessibility......)?

I will start;

Sylvan because of numbers

Frank Lake !

Hands down the easiest whitefish lake to score on.
Pretty good size there at times too.

And so close to Calgary

I guess no one wants to tell you. I would call Sylvan Central and not southern and I do agree with you. I haven't fished any of the southern lakes or res. yet.

P.S. Frank lake is just a slough for birders. Bring your binnocs if you go :)

Frank lake - so close to High River. Who would have ever thought a high whitefish population :sHa_shakeshout:

Keep your damn fishing line out of my duckpond :fighting0074:

Thanks .243Dude. I don't expect the your honey holes location and just the general info.
About the whitefish my vote goes to Travers. Although I got some from Lake McGregor. Last spring I got one whitefish from Badger lake(near the pump station).

I think Gull might not be considered as South Alberta
