...and this thread in particular: Grand Prairie Storm folding? (http://www.outdoorsmenforum.ca/showthread.php?t=277921)..

I invite anyone in the Calgary SE area to come out to today's afternoon game between the Canucks and Lloyminster Bobcats and support our local Junior hockey players. 2:00 pm.

Being that our household has been involved in Jr. A for 9 years now. And having billeted players for 5 of those years, I can say that if the community isn't behind the team, the future is grim.
In recent years Lloyd almost moved to Whitecourt, but found a white knight to save the day. St. Albert folded due to no support, and moved to Whitecourt, and surprise surprise, the franchise is flourishing. Fan busses come to DV, and some games the Whitecourt fans equal the DV fans. The DV Thunder isn't in dire straits yet, but if Friday and Saturday's games attendance are any indication, somebody better wake up.(DV won both games against MOB)
Sponsors are one thing.
Fans are another.

I wish the best to the Storm and all the other AJHL teams, hopefully they can get this franchise back on track.

Here's the rivalry between DV and GP at its pinnacle.

Watched Camrose play two games on the weekend. Good turnouts at both. The Kodiaks should be financially healthy.

Try to get out and cheer on the Bobcats when my schedule permits. Signed up to do some volunteer hours when the RBC Cup is here this spring.

Well your boys won today. 2-1 in the shootout. Close game. Shots were tied after two periods. Bobcats have some big players and a ton of 20 year olds!
That Mulder and Moro are big boys.
