One of the great things Saskatchewan has done with its fisheries. One that has nothing to do with amount of anglers, people in the province, funding enforcement, where license money goes, etc. It could be instituted in Alberta to improve our fisheries without any cost or enforcement

Say what you will about the difficulties/ short comings our province experiences with fish & wildlife conservation, we need strict automatic suspensions like there are in Saskatchewan. No more leaving it up to the judges who couldn't care less about our resources, giving out laughable penalties. (Oldman river case of 25 poached Cutts and 4 Bulls).

This still has every thing to do with funding for enforcement. If no enforcement who cares if you have a suspension or no licence for that matter. Any law without enforcement is mute and of no consequence literally.

It will be improved without any additional enforcement. Same amount of enforcement, just punished harder by the courts.

Poaching to eat is quite a bit different than poaching for money or a trophy.:thinking-006:

Or should that not be a factor?:)

Other factors as well.

Poaching is poaching, it's against the law. :thinking-006:

Just saying mandatory sentences/suspensions might not be the same in all situations.

In what situation is poaching not a crime?

Don't get me wrong if it comes down to feeding my family or going hungry, I'll shoot a deer in May but I'm well aware it's illegal.

This eludes to different levels of discipline for different levels of infractions. I just said poaching is poaching. I agree the punishment fits the crime, I also think poaching is serious problem.
