View Full Version : The world lost a wonderful man yesterday.

It is with both sadness and relief that I report my father, H. John Roth, ended his short but vicious battle with cancer yesterday. His passing happened a week to the day after his 60th birthday.

In the time leading up to, and immediately following his death, I have been constantly reminded of just how many lives my father has positively impacted. These lives are so widespread I wouldn't be surprised at all if some were forum members. In fact, that is part of the reason I decided to post this here. If you knew him, please share. Post a story if you have one.

Rest in peace, Dad. I have it from here.

My sincerest condolences Swifty, that's really sad news.
I lost my father 4.5 years ago and it still saddens me when I remember his battle.
If there's one thing I can tell you, it's that with time the sadness lessens and the good memories take over.
You'll find yourself smiling when you think of him instead of crying.
There's a whole board here if you need anything.

Sorry to hear Swifty, it's a dreadful way to go.

My father was diagnosed with stage 4 small cell lung a year before retirement, didn't make it to his 65th. Toughest SOB I ever knew, figured he'd outlive me.

Swifty,

So sorry for your loss. It seems like you held your father in high esteem and affection as well as others. I am sure he knew that and it must have given him much peace is his life and last days. To be honored, respected and loved by your family is the pinnacle of fatherhood IMHO.
