Good grief ... what's up ? are we even gonna get a team into the playoffs .. what's the reason for our dismal record ...

In Montreal's case it's because they insist management and coaches are French. When you limit yourself to one or two percent of the NA population for talent you are bound to end up with duds.

Gary Bettman
The root of all our problems.

No team in Canada will win with him at the helm

No other reason for loses in game 7 cup finals with a Canadian team involved

Calgary

Edmonton

Vancouver

.... Or because they're missing the best goalie and arguably the best hockey player in the world?

And without him to carry them, the team doesn't have enough talent to maintain a winning record., as is proven by their last ten games.:)

It's embarrassing when the fans in Edmonton boo bettman. If it wasn't for him the oilers would of been sold to an American entity and ultimately moved south after the pocklington era and it was bettman that orchestrated the sale to the investors group insuring they would remain in E-town. I don't agree with everything he does but make no mistake the oilers wouldent be here today if it wasn't for him, so let's all boo him?

Canadian teams don't wake up until after the all star game....

When you can keep selling out arenas at premium ticket prices while saving costs by icing a mediocre product where is the motivation to improve your rosters to be more competitive? Many American markets have to rely on a payoff run to be profitable. Some urgency would go a long way with Canadian owners.

When you can't score two goals a game you're not going to win many. Price hid a lot of flaws.

Exactly, a star goaltender on a mediocre at best team.

Very true.

yet, they have the most Stanley Cups. Montreal's last two were under French Canadian managers and coaches. How have any of the other Canadian franchises done with hiring Managers or Coaches who can't speak English?

Another team whose fans like to live in the last century.

The same number as Toronto, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Calgary, and Edmonton, who apparently had the decided "advantage" of being able to hire any coaches they wanted to regardless of the language they spoke. ;)

Four French speaking coaches have won the Stanley cup a total of six times "this century" (over 33%). Not bad for "2%" of the population.
