you wont get charged manslaughter for drilling a 10" hole in the ice.

you might get it if you cut out a large square and leave it open

Ten inch holes should be marked if kids use the lake.

I havery been doing this since I could find down a ten inch hole and I have never heard of anyone ever drowning in a ten inch hole. I think you're all safe don't worry. Now when I drilled 16 holes together to get my phone out that's a different story.

A theif can be caught red handed and get off with nothing. I'm not too worried about someone drowning in a icehole. If they fall in and don't drown there could be trouble, standing on their head instead of getting them out may be the best option lol

Little kids tend to hurt their legs when one leg goes down the hole. A 10 inch hole is big enough for this to happen. A F&W CO once told me it is a good idea to mark ten inch holes on busy lakes. Any hole over ten inches big requires marking or flagging.

If you pay a little attention to your kids that are small enough to fall down a 10" hole like a descent parent should your kids will be just fine! They'd have a better chance falling down the hole they're fishing in! If they're off wondering the lake and you're not paying attention you may as well leave them on the highway before you get to the lake!

My son got a soaker stepping in a 10" hole while fishing at night but I believe it is an "Urban Legend" that any kid big enough to walk and wearing winter clothing could fall through a 10 " hole. Cut a 10" hole in a large piece of cardboard and try to fit it over a small child.....

Considering that almost all the new augers are offered with a 10" flight ..... there is going to be flags and trash all over the ice. Marking holes isn't a substitute for using reasonable precaution fpr yourself and proper supervision for kids.

..... and people like me ..... because my size 11 foot went down the hole past the knee.

Unfortunately I drilled that one myself.

More hype instead of actual journalism. It would be impossible to prove that the action was intentional or dangerous.

What recreational lake in Alberta handy been ice fished on in the last 5 decades?
