in the past ive mostly been targeting pike, this year id like to try my luck with the lakers.

any pointers for this lake ? what depth of water ? areas of the lake that are close to chip to focus on? preferred bait / jig ?

any info would help TONS!

Wow ! I wish I could make the trip with you !
If you are targeting Lakers start with a good sonar fish in 70- 120 ft
pm me if you need helping to adjust the settings.
Pick up some jumbo tube jigs at the fishing hole(White) and some large minnnows.
If you got deep pockets pickup a bondy bait lure in burbot colour ($20)
You fish them mostly like walleye. right on the bottom of the lake.
If you see one in the sonar just start reeling in .They will follow it up right to the top until they bite .
Do share pics when you get back .

How far you guys from chip ? If you go just north of Egg island ( I think that's what it's called ) amazing for big lakers here.

My brother and I were just talking about taking an insane athabasca adventure. We were scoping out some crazy structure mid lake where there is probably minimal pressure I would suspect. Like 120 km from Fort chip. One day I will get up there. Thanks for the pics!

I used to be a guide on Athabasca Brandon if you needed to be steered the right direction ...

Thanks guys so far for the pointers, we will be staying the night at one of the bed and breakfasts in chip, we will have our snowmobiles so we are pretty mobile. Hoping to stay within an hours ride of chip.
