I got up early to try my luck at Spray Lakes this morning - the day started off by my narrowly missing a deer on my way out of town, and seeing it get hit on the east bound Trans Canada by someone doing about 80 kms / hour. I could see the deer cartwheel about 5' over top of the vehicle that hit it. Don't think it was going to walk that one off.

I was fishing by about 8 AM near Sparrowhawk, and pulled up 6 lakers, but saw fish on my flasher and had bite almost all morning. Nothing too big of course, but it was a good way to unwind before the work week starts up. I was fishing white jigs with small smelts, the fish were fairly aggressive today.

awesome day! (except for the deer hit).

We live in a very special place to have views like that an hour or so from home...
