Will it last?

I was on Slave at the narrows on the weekend, and was surprised how little ice there was compared to other years. Many of the shacks that are usually out there weren't there. It also appeared that some people had removed their shacks early. I spoke with a local who claimed to have the first ice shack on the narrows in December and was concerned about all the overflow already in and around where his shack was located.

We moved around a bit and found ice from 14-21 inches. Typically there would be 30 inches or more. Do you think the ice will last until the end of March this year? If the weather trend continues my guess is no.
