Great pics! Those perch have nice colours. They almost look like the European ones with the bright fins.

You use a 5 of diamonds spoon on a dead stick? Baited with a smelt or anything?

This also confused me.... Have you had luck with a dead stick and spoon before, or trying something new?

It worked.... Nice fish!

And I've been running this rig for a long time, works great for hungry walleye as well but I downsize the hook.

My buddy fishes this way also. Works good if fish are feeding aggressive. If not, it's a skunk day.

I don't have too many skunk days, Variety is key. I will occasionally go around with my sonar and check my set up, if there is a fish in the immediate location I just give the rod a few little jigs and back to still mode. Works like a charm!!
