I would try the reel doctor on the southside. I do believe they did fix them years ago. If not he will point you in the right direction.
What happened to your bird. I have a couple and never a problem

It sounds like a bearing in the spinny thing is dying. Still works it's just annoying.

I would keep using it and try to get through the year if you can.

There are 4 Canadian listed service centers, none in AB though so you will have to send it in and probably will take some time to get it back. I think they just charge a flat rate to refurbish it too which is fairly expensive(like 200 bucks).

Awesome, thanks guys. Hopefully it's not 200 bucks. But I guess that's better than buying a new one.

I know that is how it works in the US, not entirely sure about these Canadian centers.

You could try and pull it apart and figure out what is wrong then try and order a part from one of those service centers. I did that for a broken gain knob but that is a lot more straight forward then what might be making your noise.

Sounds like the motor. Might just be better off useing it as it is till it dies and save for a new one. Keep this one as a back up or spare. I had mine apart once and yours sounds like it might be an expensive repair.

I sent mine to Vancouver and I paid $120 to fix the same problem. They are slow this time of year so it shouldn't take too long for them to fix it. Its like a $10 part.
