Hey I am thinking of going fishing today and wondering if the ice is safe to go on still? I am open to any lake south of calgary.
Thanks in advance

I was at Chain Lakes Res briefly yesterday morning in the crazy wind still had plenty 14+ inches of ice, but my buddy didn't pack his cold weather clothes to sit outside so we drove away. :angry3:

Stafford has open water.
Im sure chin and sherburn will both be too rotten to fish by mid week.
I was at sherburn yesterday and by the end of the day it wasnt looking too good. Also heard someone went through to their waist on sherburn yesterday but i didnt witness it so cant confirm that.

12" at Chin this weekend, hard, clear, and slippery. Will definitely soften up this week. Fished open water there in Dec so the same thing in Feb is fine with me.:)

Was on Newell this weekend, walked out. Ice about 14 inch, melting fast, and making lots of weird noises. Will be fishing Bow soon. Short ice season in southern alberta.
