What Will Happen To Gun Owners?

What does everyone think the Liberal Government will do to the large number of gun owners that have not applied for a possesion licence by January 1, 2001? Will they prosecute? I'd love to hear some thoughts from those that are refusing to buy a licence.

I believe the communist (oops, I mean Liberal) government will begin with a wittling process. First, we will not be able to purchase ammunition without a licence and I am assuming that also means reloading goods. Second, although we are inching our way towards a police state I dont forsee night raids on firearms owners but if the police have a "reason" to investigate I most certainly believe they would prosecute to the fullest extent of whatever law they feel like making.

TJ I don't think them lawless coyotes that are not going to reejester them guns of tharn (or themselves) will likley spout off about it here. Computers have ears ya know.

I have heard that most will let the cops take their guns away from them if they come lookin for un reejestered guns and gunners. Most say they will let the cops have their bullets first and then if they still want the guns they can probably have em, once they pry the owners fingers off them guns.

Of course I am all permitted up the you know. I have been inspected, injected, infected and not rejected. I have took the course, passed the test, sworn the oath. If there is a gun crime committed in these parts, you can be sure I didn't do it. I got the paper work to prove it.

more guns than I want

A lot of my friends, them being people I know that are on the verge of,(because of the added hassle and costs of Hunting and owning firearms) or have given up the Hunting and Shooting sport because of lack of desire, have offered their guns to me. They have no desire to add their names to the Governments list of gun-owners.It has become decission time for many of my friends, as they decide weather to persue their lifelong hunting trips, or become fisherman, campcooks, or photographers. It saddens me to see my lifelong friends even debating the issue, but find myself also thinking about my future in the sport. I could become the owner of a lot of guns, but do I want them? If alot of my hunting buddys give up the sport, should I? I know alot of you diehard outdoorsman will think my buddys are giving in to easy, but they tell me that they are not giving up their outdoor pursuits, they will be trading their guns for fishing rods and cameras, I know, I know! Its just what the Government wants us to do. I have spent alot of time debating the issue. Lets face it its pretty hard to take a teenager today and convince him to go Hunting, and pursue it as a lifelong sport. Hunting and owning guns is expensive, its getting harder to get access to land, Its becoming socially unacceptable as less of us Hunt.I will not accept my friends guns without a fight, but If I dont take them, they will be handed over the counter at the local police station. Sad, Sad, Sad.

You are breaking the law. Deal with it. Register you guns now or the cops will go into your house and take them.

Note that you are answering a 9 year old question posed by an inactive board member there HondaCom. Secondarily, how will the police know to come to his house to take his guns if they're not registered; therefore nonexistent as far as the police's knowledge/database is concerned? Are you suggesting that the police obtain search warrants for every dwelling and structure in Canada to search for unregistered firearms?

This thread is nearly 9 years old. Is it a new trend to bring up zombie threads lately?
