Much as I disagreed with his actions while mayor...I wouldn't wish his last two years on anyone.
RIP Doug.

RIP Mr Ford. The fact you made so many blow their minds at you popularity made me smile. Tough job to be a public servant, you can never please everyone.

No kidding!!!!

I thought that I had heard wrong also, a little shocked at how young he was.

You have to admire a fellow that walked to his own beat among the Toronto crowd (save for the narcotic habit anyways). I'm also surprised at his age, he was only 13 months older than me but I figured him for being older.

I think most of us would really have enjoyed him if we had the chance to get to know him outside his role. He was likely a heckuva good dude, but at the same time a tortured soul. RIP Rob Ford.

Can't help but agree with this, the man has a young family and that's what's really sad.

Yikes! not much older than me. Someone that certainly would have been great in an over the beer conversation. RIP Mr Ford, I enjoyed my time in your hood.

When Mr. Ford was in the spotlight, the wife and I were going to Toronto for a business trip of hers.
I emailed His office and his personal assistant responded to my request for a meet and photo with him.
He asked me to call when I got to Toronto and he could set it up.

I did and was told that Mr. Ford was busy and couldn't meet with me.
Fair enough, he's a busy guy.

The day before we were to leave I get a call from Rob Ford himself asking me if I had time that afternoon to meet.
Hell ya!

I met him at Toronto city hall and was escorted to his office.
We talked for about 20 minutes about all sorts of things and then he posed for a picture with his arm around me.

He assured me that the next time he came to Edmonton to see the Eskimos play the Argos he would gimme a call and we could go to the game.

Sadly, that never happened.

He was a good man that had his flaws.
Reminded me a lot of Ralph.

RIP Mr. Ford.

If he was still alive I'd have other comments, he made me laugh more than once. Rest in piece Rob, no children should have to see a parent die at such a young age.
