Running between appointments today has me stopping in to get a quick bite.
Waiting in line to place my order I'm greeted by the restaurant manager.
Have I tried the new kiosk? I'm asked.
No I say but I have heard of them.
If you try it out I'll include the fries and drinks for free.
OK I say
She starts the order on the touch screen
I choose bun , cheese, toppings and condiments.
Finished inputting the selections I pay and she hands me a disk with a table tracker and my order number
I'm told my order will be brought to me and to find a seat.
A few minutes later I'm brought my drink and my meal and was quite surprised by it.

Wow. How much was that meal?
I have been so curious about this build your own burger at McDs. I thought it was just use the regular standard burgers they already had...like add big mac sauce on a normal cheeseburger for variety. I did not know there are better toppings to add. And a better bun, ciabatta?

Almost the Same happened for me, suggested I try the kiosk. I started the process then realized that the price of the burger without a meal add-on was almost $10... Each ingredient added cost more, I'm talking lettuce, tomato, the basics. No thanks

I was out burning broth piles today, my lunch was Stawnichy's Kubassa cooked over a fire with a piece of homemade bread. The only side I had was mustard.

They have really upped their game lately.
They are going more towards a sit down restaurant, with fast food prices and service. I find the food is better too.

Just under $9 and yes a ciabatta bun.
It was quite good

Jeez. I understand it is likely better than their current slop on a bun but for all those add on prices I think I would be going to soda jerks or something to build your own burger.
I think I may still be convinced to give this BYOB a shot at McDs though...just to try it out.

Looks like they are upping their game to compete with better markets. Personally their coffee is my favorite.

$9 and they paid for the fries and drink? I think there are way better burger shops around for that price. Personally I prefer my homemade stuffed burger cooked on my smoker but thats just me.
However, I'm sure the kids will drag me through Rotten Ronnies eventually so I will likely try one.

That's funny because this is what I was served today in the same Md's chain.
I got quite hostile, insisting that this was NOT a double cheeseburger!
The large Hutterite lady behind me said that for sure it came from a skinny cow.
I peeled up a corner and, sure enough, there was a second patty hidden there.
Last time feeding under the arches.
The above and a drink $8.20

That is about what you could expect to pay for any one of their burger combos,
But I could choose every aspect of it and yes it was actually quite good
