I was never a fan other than for the entertainment value, but I thought this was a nice tribute...

Wish he was in Justin or rachels chair instead.

Had his faults but would probably be doing a better job.

Rex, ever so eloquent.

We could all strive to be so remarkably ordinary

There was much in Rob Ford that we should all be able to relate to... it's called imperfection. Goodness knows he had his troubles in the last chapter, but I think there was much in the man to be emulated. Too young.

Rex Murphy is the Newfie Shakespeare.

And when Rex is gone ,the CBC will have nothing left to offer the common man, so the should shut off the lights for good when that happens

I'm no Ford fan, but everything Rex said is true.

I don't think Rex has ever failed us. Wish HE would run for government. But I guess that would be a step down.

I rode the bus in and out of St John's many a time sitting close or next to Mr Murphy. But if I do the math correctly that was over 26 years ago. He looks THE SAME now as back then?? Well maybe a little older, not much difference tho. I personally thought he had passed many years ago. oops. He is a very educated man. Now i'm getting home sick.... Happy Easter everyone.

I dont think anyone could have said it better. He touched on the low points but did not crucify and he touched the high points and did not glorify.

Rob Ford had his problems and he was bombastic but he was a man of the common cloth who did the best he could as Mayor and his tireless efforts to cut out the reckless tax and spend more attitude is admirable.

I would happily have a person such as or like Rob Ford over the socialist spend happy Nenshi for Mayor of Calgary anyday.

Rex Murphy should be the Poet Laureate of Canada. His words sing to me.
