So I managed to be the Highest Bid on a trip to Manzanillo at the SCI event in Red Deer a couple weekends ago. Its for this year or next year I believe.
We will have a Condo for a week and get 4 days of guided Fishing. I just want to pick the high time for Sails , Marlin , Dorado and maybe Roosters if they exist there.
We were just in Los Cabos a few weeks ago and it was poor fishing due to the time of year.
I am taking my Wife and my Grown sons along of course and want them to spend lots of time on the reel hopefully..
I'm looking for past experience and knowledge you can share on the best time of year to go..
Thanks in Advance
Phil.

This is a rough guide to show the best times so as you can see June-Sept has 7 out of 10 game fish present. I surf fish and have been going in August down to Puerto Vallarta, with mixed results so far. The last couple of years have been very active for hurricanes offshore in the eastern Pacific and at the very least churns up big swells and waves which puts the fish down for a few days. The el nino also kept some rain away which normally would break the estuaries and let nutrients out into the ocean which attracts the bait fish in close. I found a 10 day trip worked well as it gives you time to fish around the bad days and still gives time to get some good days in.

Here is another site with a fishing report and it sounds like the PVG area is the best place to go. But that should give a good overall view of what's happening on the Mexican west coast.
